Current Job Openings—

  • Martin Oaks Cemetery and Crematory has an immediate opening for a part-time (30 hours per week) Crematory Operator / Driver. The position is eligible for FULL employee benefits including Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Retirement account funded by the company, and company paid medical/dental insurance. The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:30 to 5:30. The starting salary is $18 to $22 per hour, depending on level of experience.

    The Job:

    The primary duty of the position is to perform the processes associated with the cremation of human remains within the laws of the State of Texas and the policies of Martin Oaks. The essential functions of the role include:

    —Perform appropriate identification of human remains and maintain identity standards throughout the cremation process.

    —Interface with funeral directors and families as needed during the cremation process.

    —Perform cremations in a timely and compliant manner.

    —Pack and prepare cremated remains for release as needed.

    —Clean and maintain retorts, processing room, cremation processor and other equipment.

    —Comply with all Martin Oaks policies and procedures.

    Secondary, or “as needed” functions of the role include:

    —Transport deceased persons in a safe and compliant manner to the Martin Oaks facility from locations including medical examiner’s offices, mortuaries, hospitals, and hospice facilities.

    —Transport cremated remains in a safe and compliant manner to the managing Funeral Home.

    The Successful Applicant Will:

    —Hold a current Cremation Operator Certification for the State of Texas, but we will certify the right candidate.

    —Hold a current and valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

    —Possess strong organizational and time-management skills.

    —Be responsible and reliable.

    —Demonstrate sensitivity and care in dealing with others.

    —Maintain confidentiality.

    —Work independently with minimal oversight.

    —Be able to lift over 150 pounds.
